In February 2022, I changed from part-time contractor, to part-time W2 employee, with Aquarian Web Studio (formerly Petroglyph Creative).

Job duties are virtually the same as while a contractor - performing updates to CraftCMS or ExpressionEngine based sites, upgrading add-ons or plugins in the same, troubleshooting issues as they arise. Incorporating Tailwind CSS to replace older frameworks where possible. Still learning bits of JavaScript here and there.

I contracted with Doug Black at TripleNerdScore in early 2024 to work on three different sites over the course of about seven months, all built upon ExpressionEngine.

The first site involved utilizing a prefabricated HTML template and incorporating it into ExpressionEngine templates.

The second and third sites were both using designs provided by another party (in XD and in PDF/images), and developing them into HTML templates in ExpressionEngine.

I contracted part-time with Petroglyph Creative.

• Automate and manage custom deployments using tools such as DeployHQ, Ploi, and ServerPilot on Digital Ocean, ensuring efficient and reliable deployment workflows.
• Applied accessibility best practices while working alongside an external auditing team to remediate site issues and achieve WCAG 2.1 compliance for Neocon.
• Maintain and implement iterative updates for client websites built on ExpressionEngine, WordPress, and Craft CMS, optimizing performance and functionality.
• Develop and customize Craft CMS and ExpressionEngine templates based on XD designs, PDFs, and image references, translating visual concepts into responsive, high-quality web experiences.
• Migrate WordPress sites to Craft CMS or ExpressionEngine, streamlining site architecture and enhancing maintainability.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve software bugs encountered during upgrades and general site operation, ensuring minimal downtime and a seamless user experience.
• Collaborate within a small, agile development team using Git for version control across local, development, and production environments.
• Configure and optimize web hosting environments across various platforms, ensuring secure and high-performance site deployments.

All of the skills that I've listed here, I've learned in a combination of tutorials and self-paced classes at sources such as Codecademy, Udemy and FreeCodeCamp. Oh, and one class for Adobe Illustrator at the local community college before Adobe switched over to their subscription based services for pretty much all of their products.
